<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate supporting structure of a light guide plate surface emission type display device in which weight reduction and thinness of a device are achieved and a strength sufficient to bear snow storm is achieved without making a supporting structure large and a light guide plate thick even if the light guide plate is large in size, and which can be manufactured without depending upon workers' experience and skill sense with a high production efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of stems of long shape which have a cross-section of U-shape and have attaching portions extended vertically to the outside respectively at the fringe of the opposed faces and jointed to a base plate are fix installed on the rear face of the base plate that is tightly jointed to the light guide plate.
