<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for electrostatic charge image development which has small dependence on the environment such as temperature and humidity, hardly causes peeling of a covering resin layer thereof, and can stably perform image formation over a long period of time, a developer for electrostatic charge image development using the same, a developer cartridge for electrostatic charge image development, an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: The carrier for electrostatic charge image development has a core material satisfying inequality (1): 3.5≤A/a≤7.0 and the covering resin layer to cover the core material, wherein the covering resin layer contains a thermoplastic resin having an alicyclic group. In the inequality, A denotes a BET specific surface area (unit: m<SP>2</SP>/g) of the core material, a denotes a specific surface area (unit: m<SP>2</SP>/g) of the core material expressed in terms of sphericity, and the specific surface area a expressed in terms of sphericity is defined by a=6/(d×ρ), wherein d (unit: μm) denotes a volume average particle diameter of the core material and ρ (unit: non-dimension) denotes a true specific gravity of the core material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
