SOCKET FOR LIGHT SOURCE AND LIGHTING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp socket capable of directly detecting the temperature of a lamp socket body by mounting a temperature sensor on the lamp socket body.

SOLUTION: A lamp socket 10 on which a lamp having a lamp base formed into a male screw shape is mounted supplies power to the lamp to turn it on. The lamp socket 10 comprises: a temperature sensor 4 which cuts off the power supply to the lamp when a detected temperature exceeds a threshold; and a socket body 1 which has a base holder 3 provided with a female screw shape corresponding to the male screw shape of the lamp base to hold the lamp base in the inside, and on which a temperature sensor housing part 5 is formed for housing the temperature sensor 4 in the vicinity of the outside of the base holder 3.
