<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical unit capable of suppressing deterioration of luminance and reducing luminance unevenness without increasing the number of light sources. <P>SOLUTION: The optical unit 5 for use in a backlight device 1 of a liquid crystal display including a plurality of optical members comprises a light-collecting and -diffusing means 6 having a protruding prism having a saw-teeth like section on one surface thereof, a first light-collecting and -diffusing means 7 having a plurality of hemisphere- or semi-oval-like microlenses on one surface thereof, a light collecting means 8 having a protruding prism having a saw-teeth like section on one surface thereof, and a second light-collecting and -diffusing means 9 having a plurality of hemisphere- or semi-oval-like microlenses 12 on one surface thereof, provided in this order on the optical path of light emitted from a light source 3. Each surface is provided on a light-emitting side of the optical unit, the light distribution half value angle of the first light-collecting and -diffusing means 7 is 2-15°, and the light distribution half value angle α of the second light-collecting and -diffusing means 9 is 8-25°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
