<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of correcting positional deviation of a scan line in real time and an image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: Provided are a light source 11, a polygon mirror 14 that performs deflection scanning of a laser beam from the light source 11, a scan lens 15 that forms an image of the laser beam subjected to deflection scanning on a scanned surface, an electro-optical element 12 that is placed on an optical path between the light source 11 and the scanned surface and is capable of electrically changing a refractive index of the inside, a scan line control unit 10 that controls the refractive index of the inside of the electro-optical element 12 and adjusts a deflection amount of the laser beam transmitting through the inside, and positional deviation detection means 16 that is placed deviated from an optical path from the electro-optical element 12 to the scanned surface and detects positional deviation of the entering laser beam from an ideal position in a sub-scanning direction.
