A controller 27, when set to an automatic mode, automatically switches the operation state of the step-up/down circuit 29 according to the operation state of the motor M, when set to a high torque mode, controls the operation of the step-up/down circuit 29 so that the step-up operation is performed, and when set to an energy saving mode, controls the operation of the step-up/down circuit 29 so that a step-down operation is performed.
