<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image in which noise is reduced even under a low-illuminance condition and blurs caused by chromatic aberration are reduced. <P>SOLUTION: When an X-axis direction is regarded as 0° and attention is paid to pixels indicated as G in a color filter, the pixels indicated as G are disposed at every other pixel in any direction of 0°, 45°, 90° and 135°. All pixels adjacent to the pixels indicated as G in the direction of 0° are pixels indicated as M. All pixels adjacent to the pixels indicated as G in the direction of 90° are pixels indicated as W. All pixels adjacent to the pixels indicated as G in the direction of 45° are pixels indicated as R or B. All pixels adjacent to the pixels indicated as G in the direction of 135° are pixels indicated as R or B, being different from the pixels adjacent in the direction of 45°. Demosaic processing is then carried out based on W-M=G.
