PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tandem time-of-flight mass spectrometry and spectrometer capable of always configuring optimal time settings of an ion gate even when device conditions are changed.
SOLUTION: When selecting and cleaving desired precursor ions with an ion gate and generating and measuring the product ions, a table is prepared in advance using a plurality of reference substances different from one another in mass-to-charge ratios, the table storing measured optimal values of delayed extraction conditions of the reference substances and open times of the ion gate corresponding to the mass-to-charge ratios. Then, the delayed extraction condition and the open time of the ion gate by which a mass resolution becomes optimal in terms of the mass-to-charge ratio of the desired precursor ion are calculated based on the stored values in the table, thereby setting the calculated optimal values of the delayed extraction condition and the open time of the ion gate to the tandem time-of-flight mass spectrometer.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
