<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make stereoscopic vision quicker and easier to reduce a burden on an observer, in a stereoscopic image display method and device displaying a stereoscopic image so as to be stereoscopically viewed. <P>SOLUTION: In a stereoscopic image display method, a specific part (N, C, or the like) having a large change amount of a physical characteristic of an image, is selected. First specific areas (R1-R8) on a right-eye image XR1 and second specific areas on a left-eye image, which include the specific part, are extracted. Image processing is performed to a first processing target area, which is an area other than the first specific areas in the right-eye image, and to a second processing target area, which is an area other than the second specific areas in the left-eye image. A stereoscopic image which consists of the right-eye image SR and the left-eye images to which the image processing is performed, is displayed stereoscopically.
