<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detection device capable of detecting a solid object and a road surface existing on the ground plane by utilizing electromagnetic waves radiated from an object to be measured. <P>SOLUTION: An object detection device includes: an antenna 2 for detecting horizontally polarized waves and vertically polarized waves of electromagnetic waves radiated from objects to be measured; an object detecting part 3 for calculating blackbody temperatures of the objects to be measured based on reception electromagnetic wave amount of the horizontally polarized waves and the vertically polarized waves to detect the objects to be measured; a smoothness measuring part 4 for measuring smoothness of the objects to be measured based on wavelengths and incident angles of the horizontally polarized waves and the vertically polarized waves and detecting smooth objects to be measured from the objects to be measured detected by the object detecting part 3; and a relative angle measuring part 5 for measuring a relative angle between the object to be measured detected by the smoothness measuring part 4 and an antenna observation surface based on a reception polarized wave ratio Γp indicating a ratio of the reception electromagnetic wave amount of the horizontally polarized waves to the reception electromagnetic wave amount of the vertically polarized waves. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
