<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent device which is excellent in efficiency of externally extracting emitted light and is capable of achieving low power consumption and a prolonged service life. <P>SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent device has at least a reflective electrode, an organic electroluminescent layer, a light extraction layer, and a transparent substrate in this order. A ratio (w/d) of a minimum width w of a non-light-emitting region protruded from an outer peripheral edge of an effective light-emitting region of the organic electroluminescent layer, to a total average thickness d from the organic electroluminescent layer to the transparent substrate is 9 or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
