<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a master information carrier by which the master information carrier having excellent magnetic transfer performance and wear resistance can be inexpensively manufactured. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a master information carrier 100 in which a transfer pattern 102a corresponding to an information signal includes: a step for forming a magnetic layer 102 on a surface of a substrate 101; a step for forming a mask layer 103 covering a surface of the magnetic layer 102; a step for patterning the mask layer 103 into a shape corresponding to the transfer pattern 102a; a step for forming the transfer pattern 102a magnetically separated by partially modifying the magnetic layer 102 by using the patterned mask layer 103; and a step for removing the mask layer 103 from the surface of the magnetic layer 102. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
