<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress wasteful consumption of a fixing solution while preventing unevenness of fixing by forming a foam-like fixing solution film having a uniform width corresponding to a size of a recording medium on fixing solution application means. <P>SOLUTION: A die coating head 500 comprises: a manifold 501 extending in a width direction of an application roller 61; slits 502a through 502e communicating with the manifold 501 and being divided by partition walls 506a through 506d into a plurality thereof; shutter members 503a through 503e for respectively opening and closing each slit corresponding to a size of a recording medium; a foam agitating roller 507 for agitating a foam-like fixing solution discharged from the slits 502a through 502e so as to uniform the foam-like fixing solution; and a foam supplying port 508 being opposite to the application roller 61 and uniformly extending in the width direction thereof.
