PURPOSE: An image processing apparatus and an image processing method thereof are provided to supply optimal image quality by compensating for degraded image quality which is generated by bit rate degradation. CONSTITUTION: A data transceiving unit(110) receives streaming content. An information processing unit(120) extracts image quality control information. The image quality control information includes content provider information corresponding to the streaming content. An image processing unit(130) controls the image quality of the streaming content. A controlling unit(150) controls the image processing unit in order to control the image quality of the streaming content using the extracted image quality control information.
