ROTATING MACHINE, ESPECIALLY GAS TURBINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas turbine in which cooling efficiency and machine efficiency are improved by control of the refrigerant mass flow rate in a secondary cooling region.

SOLUTION: The gas turbine 10 is cooled by cooling air. The cooling air is guided by a main flow 12 and a secondary flow 13 through the gas turbine. The gas turbine has a rotor 22 and a stator 28. The secondary flow of the cooling air is guided to a pre-swirl nozzle 24 through a swirl passage 27 provided in the stator, so as to flow out from the stator by the pre-swirl nozzle. A control means 36-56 are arranged in the area of the pre-swirl nozzle in order to automatically control the secondary flow according to the temperature. The control means is wholly or partially made of a shape-memory alloy.
