METHOD FOR SEPARATION OF HMX AND RDX

PURPOSE: A method for separating cyclotetramethlenetetranitramine(HMX) and cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine(RDX) is provided to selectively dissolve the RDX contained in explosive compounds by using the dissolution difference of the HMX and the RDX to compacted dimethyl ether. CONSTITUTION: Explosive compounds containing HMX and RDX are introduced into a container(S110). Dimethyl ether in the form of liquid or compacted gas is introduced into the container to form an RDX solution in which the RDX from the explosive compounds is dissolved(S120). The RDX solution is filtered to collect the HMX and is discharged under an atmospheric pressure to crystallize the RDX from the RDX solution in order to form RDX particles(S140). The RDX particles are collected.
