<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the output of a whole device is reduced due to frictional force of the contact surface of a vibrator, about which driving force does not contribute to the moving direction of a mobile body, becoming a load. <P>SOLUTION: A vibration wave driving device includes a vibrator including an electro-mechanical energy conversion element, and a supporting part for supporting the vibrator, and excites the vibrator to vibrate and moves a mobile body contacting with the vibrator by frictional force. The vibration wave driving device includes a movement mechanism for enabling the vibrator to move in a second direction crossing a first direction the vibrator drives within a plane parallel to a plane where the vibrator and the mobile body contact with each other, and a control unit for performing change operation changing a contact position between the vibrator and the mobile body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
