<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aibag device including a promptly and reliably inflatable airbag though having a compact structure. <P>SOLUTION: The airbag device includes: a sensor (8) that detects collision prediction and/or actual collision with a pedestrian (9) and outputs a crash signal; a gas source (11) that supplies expansion gas based on generation of the crash signal; the airbag that expands/develops by gas supplied from the gas source (11); and a lifter (22) that lifts the rear part of a hood (5) based on generation of the crash signal. The airbag (21) is fixed to the backside of the rear part of the hood (5). The airbag device is constituted so that when the crash signal is output, the lifter lifts the rear part of the hood (5), and at least part of a wind screen (2) of an automobile (1) is covered by expansion/development of the airbag (21). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
