PURPOSE: A monitoring system of meter data and a method thereof are provided to improve reliability of meter data by estimating an actual amount of energy consumption of a consumer if the meter data is not valid. CONSTITUTION: A monitoring system of meter data comprises a database(200), a data validation checking unit(210), a data estimating unit(220), and a rule setting unit(230). The database stores meter data of a consumer. The data validation checking unit reads out meter data stored in the database and determines validation. The rule setting unit sets a validation checking rule which becomes a basis for determining the validation in the data validation checking unit.
