OPTICAL MODULE FOR OPTICAL COMMUNICATION

PURPOSE: An optical module for optical communications is provided to expand a use temperature range of a laser diode by correcting the operating temperature of the laser diode. CONSTITUTION: An optical module(10) for optical communications comprises a laser diode(11), a stem(12), a stem pin(13), and a heating means(14). The laser diode is used as a light source generating light by current injection. The stem is used in order to arrange various elements which are required for the optical module including the laser diode. The stem pin is formed by passing through upper and down sides of the stem through a through hole formed in the stem. The stem pin includes the laser diode arranged on the upper side of the stem, a signal pin(131) electrically connected to other electrical components, and a ground pin(132) electrically connected to the stem. The heating means is arranged in the ground pin exposed in a lower direction of the stem.
