<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire that has improved anti-biting-stone characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: In the pneumatic tire, a plurality of blocks are divided on a tread of the tire by a plurality of circumferential grooves extending in a tread circumferential direction and a plurality of widthwise grooves extending in a tread width direction. A projection is formed on at least one groove wall of the widthwise groove at least in a tread center. The projection is formed further inside a tire radial direction than a position of half groove depth of the widthwise groove and further outside of the tire radial direction than a groove bottom.
