<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire with improved operability and insertability to a stenotic lesion part or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The guide wire 1A includes: a core shaft 2; a coil body 3A wound around the outer periphery of at least the distal end part 20 of the core shaft 2; and a most distal end part 4 formed by fixing the distal end part 20 of the core shaft 2 and the distal end part 30 of the coil body 3A; wherein spiral projection part 14A and recessed part 14B continued to the coil body 3A are formed on the surface of the most distal end part 4.
