<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can reduce influence of driving irregularities generated in a photosensitive drum to accurately control a color shift, without reducing productivity. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus having a plurality of image forming sections for forming images having different colors, for forming a color image by superimposing the plurality of images having different colors formed by the image forming sections on each other, comprises: a rotation position detection section for detecting a rotation position of a photosensitive drum of the image forming section; a driving irregularity information acquisition section for calculating driving irregularities of the photosensitive drum based on a detection result of a driving irregularity detecting test pattern for detecting the driving irregularities generated in the photosensitive drum, and for acquiring driving irregularity information for one turn of the photosensitive drum based on rotation position information acquired from the rotation position detection section; and a driving irregularity correction section for correcting the driving irregularities, by using the driving irregularity information acquired by the driving irregularity information acquisition section for a detection result of a color shift detecting test pattern for detecting a color shift of the image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
