<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device which is compact, high in light extraction efficiency, and free of color unevenness, and a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a light-emitting device which includes a plurality of light-emitting elements 11 on a substrate 10, where the plurality of light-emitting elements are covered with a phosphor containing resin layer 13 and a plate-like optical layer 14 is installed on top of the phosphor containing resin layer. The phosphor containing resin layer forms inclined surfaces 130 linking side surfaces of the light-emitting elements and a bottom surface of the plate-like optical layer, and, in a gap between the light-emitting elements themselves, forms a curved surface 131 linking the side surfaces of the light-emitting elements. The inclined surfaces and the curved surface reflect the light radiated from the side surfaces of the light-emitting elements toward a radiation surface, thereby making a light-emitting device possible which is compact, yet exhibits high light extraction efficiency. Further, the phosphor containing resin layer is composed in such a way that regions right above the light-emitting elements have a higher phosphor concentration than regions right above the inclined surfaces and a region right above the curved surface. In addition, phosphor concentrations in the regions right above the inclined surfaces and the region right above the curved surface are made to be different, which helps to reduce color unevenness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
