摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece transfer system free from overflow, irrespective of a variation in supplied workpieces. <P>SOLUTION: The workpiece transfer system 10 includes: a pickup conveyor 2 to convey the workpieces 4; a placing conveyor 3 to convey trays 5 for placing the workpieces 4 thereon; a plurality of robots 7 for holding/releasing and transferring the workpieces 4 to the trays 5; sensors to detect the position, shape and quantity of the workpieces 4 and the trays 5 respectively; and a controller 8 to control the conveyance speed of the pickup conveyor 2 and the placing conveyor 3 and the operation of the robots 7 according to the information from the sensors.
