<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-vehicle camera and system for, even in an environment in which it is difficult to obtain the parallax of an obstacle existing in the periphery of a vehicle, recognizing the obstacle. <P>SOLUTION: The front or rear image of a self-vehicle is acquired from a plurality of image pickup devices, and a parallax and a distance between the self-vehicle and the object whose image has been picked up are calculated from the image, and when the parallax is not sufficiently acquired, the image pickup object is irradiated with pattern rays of light, and the image of the object irradiated with the pattern rays of light is acquired from the plurality of image pickup device again, and the parallax and the distance between the self-vehicle and the object whose image has been picked up are calculated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
