<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle detecting device capable of accurately detecting another vehicle from farther away, and a vehicle light distribution controlling device using the vehicle detecting device. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle detecting device for detecting the other vehicle ahead of an own vehicle comprises: first detecting means for image-processing a photographed image acquired by a camera photographing ahead of the vehicle and specifying light from the other vehicle ahead of the own vehicle in the photographed image to detect the other vehicle ahead of the own vehicle; second detecting means different from the first detecting means for acquiring at least positional information on a position of the other vehicle ahead of the own vehicle; and controlling means for controlling camera sensitivity. The controlling means changes the camera sensitivity according to a positional relation between the own vehicle and the other vehicle ahead of the own vehicle so that the other vehicle is detected by the first detecting means, when the positional information on the other vehicle ahead of the own vehicle is acquired by the second detecting means in a situation that the other vehicle ahead of the own vehicle is not detected by the first detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
