<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which: when a charging roller slips, a photoreceptor gets into such a situation that the photoreceptor is cleaned with the charging roller, and therefore a photoreceptor drum is scratched; and an additive or toner on the photoreceptor is held at a slip portion and accumulated on the surface of the charging roller, and therefore an image with charging failure having streaks is generated immediately after the release of the slip. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has means for detecting a driven state of an image carrier and a charging member, increases friction resistance μ between the both members in accordance with the detection result, and controls the driven state of the charging member. The image forming apparatus further detects with a charging current if the charging roller, which is in contact with the photoreceptor, is driven in real-time, and performs control to increase friction resistance μ of a drum to cause the charging roller to be driven. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
