PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a technology for effectively preventing glass monofilaments from being entanglement during traversed winding by paying attention to the structure of a traverse device.

SOLUTION: The traverse device 10 is configured to, when a strand S formed by bundling a plurality of filaments F is wound around a rotary member 20, perform traversed winding by reciprocating a guiding part 13 in the axial direction of the rotary member 20 while the strand S is inserted in the guiding part 13. The traverse device 10 includes a prevention means for preventing the strand S from being displaced inside the guiding part 13 in a reciprocating direction during the reciprocal movement, and a pressing means for pressing the strand S toward the outside of the guiding part 13.
