<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize appropriately for an ink quantity more than a duty limit value of a medium to be diverted at the time of optimization of an ink quantity on condition of the medium to be diverted, in order to create an LUT for a diverted medium. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises: correcting second color value characteristics to be approximated to first color value characteristics; determining a new limit value of an ink quantity based on the approximated second color value characteristics; evaluating an image quality according to a specified ink quantity using a prediction result of a color value using a color predictive model concerning on a first print medium; specifying an ink quantity not more than the above-mentioned limit value determined, and executing a prediction of the color value using the color predictive model, when optimizing the ink quantity based on the evaluation; reducing the above-mentioned specified ink quantity to the limit value of the ink quantity of the first print medium when the above-mentioned specified ink quantity exceeds the limit value of the ink quantity of the first print medium; and executing the prediction of the color value using the color predictive model based on the reduced ink quantity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
