The plate has baffles (3) forming fluid flow patterns relative to a general plane defined by the plate. The baffles are placed on two opposite longitudinal walls (1a, 1b) of the plate, where the patterns have a height (h) of less than or equal to 2 mm, and the baffles extend over the entire length (L) of the plate. The patterns are identical to each other, and arranged in staggered rows, where the patterns are formed in convex shape, corrugated shape, rectangular shape or square-wave shape. An independent claim is also included for a method for forming patterns for baffles on a plate for a heat exchanger.
