The invention provides a device and a method for cutting off a pouring gate, wherein burrs and flashes at a pouring gate residual section is removed. A multi-cavity forming article (3) forms a lens (6) via a pouring gate (4) at a front end of a pouring channel (5) formed by taking a pouring channel axis portion (5a) as a centre. A control portion (27) drives a moving plate moving mechanism (23) to move the moving plate (15) such that a lens (6) is loaded at a loading platform (11), and the control section (27) also drives a pipe moving mechanism (25) to move an air pipe (24) in back of a position where the lens (5) is pressed and controls drive for an air regulation portion (26) in accordance with a way that the air is blown into the lens (6) via interior of the air pipe (24). The control portion (27) further drives a cut-off blade moving mechanism (21) to move the cut-off blade (13) from a retreating position to a cut-off position followed by returning to the retreating position. The control section (27) moves the moving plate (15) upwards to a cleaning position while rotating a cleaning disc (17) via a cleaning motor (16). |
