<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device, which ensures a high-speed steerability, and can provide an excellent steering feeling without generating vibrations or noises via the steering wheel, not only at a time when a steering wheel is held still or operated slowly but also at the time when the steering wheel is operated quickly such as turning back the steering wheel. <P>SOLUTION: The electric power steering device is appropriately equipped with a smoothing filter for smoothing a quantization error caused by AD conversion of various analog signals within the device, to thereby smooth the quantization error and reduce a torque ripple attributed to the quantization error. The smoothing filter is turned to ON/OFF appropriately according to a rotational speed of a motor, an operating condition of the steering wheel, or a control method of the motor so as to ensure the high-speed steerability and at the same time reduce the vibrations or noises of the steering wheel when being held still or operated slowly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
