<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means capable of performing a collation function by a bar code reader single body and easily calling a valuable function for the function. <P>SOLUTION: An optical information reader includes a head section having an illuminating section for illuminating a bar code, and a grip section extending downward from the head section, and has a gun type shape projecting the head section forward in the light illuminating direction from a grip section. The optical information reader further includes: a trigger switch provided on the front face near a boundary with a head part of the grip section for performing an illumination instruction to the illumination section; a function switch provided on the upper surface of the head section in the opposite side of the lower part thereof where the grip section is provided and executing a preset and predetermined function; control means, upon receiving an operation of the trigger switch, causing the illumination section to illuminate light and, upon receiving an operation of the function switch, executing the preset function; and an LED display section for displaying the operation states of the function switch and the trigger switch. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
