<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform accurate communication when communication is performed by expressing the value of a signal by use of different frequencies. <P>SOLUTION: A communication device according to the invention is a communication device 1 that communicates a binary signal by use of a first frequency FL and a second frequency FH, and comprises a signal generation unit for detecting the number of edges of an input signal rxd changing during a constant determination period JT and generating the logic of an output signal sig. The communication device can recognize whether the input signal rxd is the first frequency FL or the second frequency FH based on the number of edges by detecting the number of edges during the constant determination period JT but not based on an interval between edges, and can determine the logic of the input signal rxd.
