<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a stretchable sheet which can inhibit one nonwoven fabric and the other nonwoven fabric from being continuously broken in a cross direction. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for producing a stretchable sheet, a continuously transferred nonwoven fabric 3 is passed through a gap between a pair of rolls 51 and 52 rotating while allowing teeth 51t and 52t, which are formed on the outer circumferential surfaces thereof, to mesh with each other, so that the nonwoven fabric 3 is stretched in a transfer direction by means of the teeth. The method includes a seam-forming step of joining a first end in the transfer direction of the nonwoven fabric and a second end in the transfer direction of the other nonwoven fabric together via joints.
