<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a security aspect by preliminarily suppressing any disadvantage even when a portable terminal is carried away within a sales block. <P>SOLUTION: A portable terminal 2 to be used in a management system 1 includes: lapsed time measurement means; and restriction means. The lapsed time measurement means is configured to measure a lapsed time after the input of predetermined trigger information or predetermined confirmation information is detected, and to, when predetermined release information is acquired during the measurement of the lapsed time, reset the lapsed time under measurement.
