<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a display mode in response to a movement of a pointer approaching a display screen when three-dimensionally detecting a user's operation against the display screen. <P>SOLUTION: A display device detects a contact operation which touches a display screen and a proximity operation which does not touch the display screen but is close to the display screen. The display device determines whether a retention time, for which a pointer detected when performing the proximity operation is included in a position determination area, is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold (S2), when the retention time is equal to or more than the threshold, performs enlarged display of an image according to a position of the pointer (S3).
