The invention relates to a drum cutting machine having a rotary drum (14) and having a plurality of blades (20) arranged along the contour of the rotary drum (14) . The lateral surface of the rotary drum (14) is provided with a multiplicity of holes (17). According to the invention, there is provided a supporting part (23) which matches the contour of the rotary drum (14) and has for each of the blades (20) a bearing point that defines the position of the cutting edge (28). The invention also relates to a blade box for such a machine. By way of the invention, it is easier to move the blades (20) into the correct position, thereby reducing the complexity in terms of maintenance.
