1411765 Production of Streptomyces xylose isomerase CPC INTERNATIONAL Inc 17 Sept 1972 [17 Sept 1971] 20616/75 Divided out of 1411763 Heading C3H [Also in Division C2] A xylose isomerase preparation is obtained by (a) subjecting a micro-organism of the Streptomyces genus to the action of a mutagenic agent, (b) isolating a viable mutant strain of the micro-organism that is characterized by the capacity to produce at least 50% more xylose isomerase than Streptomyces olivochromogenes ATCC 21,114 when cultured under the same conditions, (c) culturing the mutant strain under conditions to promote the growth thereof and thereby produce the xylose isomerase. Preferably the mutant strains used are Streptomyces olivochromogenes ATCC 21713, ATCC 21714 and ATCC 21715. |
