<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart various image effects to image data picked up in a backlit state. <P>SOLUTION: It is determined whether plural pieces of processing target image data are image data obtained through image pickup in a backlit state (F102). Then, composition processing such as HDR composition is executed on the plural pieces of processing target image data (F107).
