<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a finger vein authentication device capable of acquiring a satisfactory vein pattern by making a user correctly place a finger when registering or authenticating the finger vein pattern so as to improve authentication accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The finger vein authentication device includes a finger information registration part 240 for extracting information on a vein pattern from a vein image and registering it as a collation template in a memory, and a finger vein authentication part 250 for extracting information on a vein pattern from the vein image and collating it with the collation template for a personal identification. The device has a finger image processing part 210 for extracting feature data of the finger from the vein image and a finger placing state determination part 230 for determining the quality of a placing state of the finger depending on whether the feature data of the finger is within a specified range. When a determination result by the finger placing state determination part 230 is negative, a video output part and/or a voice output part instructs the user to place the finger again so as to acquire the vein image again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
