<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate congestion information in a region having no road information. <P>SOLUTION: A traffic information generation system: receives travel information that is transmitted from each vehicle and includes a position, a travel direction and a speed of a vehicle, and stores it in a travel information storage section; groups travel information items whose vehicle positions are within a predetermined range, out of the travel information items, into a plurality of clusters on the basis of the similarity of the travel direction; calculates a speed for each cluster on the basis of the travel information; and, if there is a cluster whose calculated speed is a predetermined threshold or less, generates congestion information representing that there is congestion in the predetermined range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
