<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a furfuryl alcohol-formaldehyde copolymer using p-formaldehyde as a formaldehyde source without using a solvent such as water or an organic solvent, in addition, to provide a production method of furfuryl alcohol-formaldehyde copolymer containing little residual formaldehyde. <P>SOLUTION: P-formaldehyde is added to furfuryl alcohol and stirred at a heating temperature not exceeding 100°C under alkaline conditions to dissolve the p-formaldehyde in the furfuryl alcohol, an acid catalyst is added to the resulting solution, and the solution is polymerized.
