<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting column elongating/contracting structure capable of preventing the sudden contraction of a supporting column even when releasing a fixing mechanism from the supporting column, without reducing the elongating/constructing operability of the supporting column. <P>SOLUTION: The supporting column 1 includes a hollow pipe body 2, an insert 3 inserted into the hollow pipe body 2, and a fixing bolt 4 fixing the insert 3 and the hollow pipe body 2 to each other in a releasable manner. In the hollow pipe body 2, a sliding member 5 is disposed which slides inside to fall slower than free fall. The sliding member 5 has a slope 52c located at a position where the sliding member 5 and the insert 3 contact each other. The insert 3 has a supporting part 32a which supports an extension part 51a of the sliding member 5 so that the insert 3 and the sliding member 5 are not relatively located at a predetermined distance or longer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
