<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal articulated robot capable of easily checking the tension on a belt in an arm. <P>SOLUTION: The robot 1 for moving a second arm part 9 includes: an arm base 9e for maintaining the structure of the second arm part 9; a second driving part 50 which is installed on the arm base 9e, and has a fourth pulley 30 and a fourth motor 28 for driving the fourth pulley 30; a driven part 51 having a third pulley 27 driven by the second driving part 50; and an up/down belt 31 which is attached to the fourth pulley 30 and the third pulley 27, and transmits power.
