The present invention relates to a system for payment and settlement of a compatible transportation card and a method thereof, and more specifically, to a system for payment and settlement of a compatible transportation card and a method thereof which can provide a system for payment and settlement of national compatible transportation cards and payment and settlement of other electronic cash companies. According to the present invention, the system for payment and settlement of the compatible transportation card comprises: card terminals which are mounted with payment SAMs for recognizing and authenticating transportation cards of different companies, identify the transportation cards as the existing transportation cards or compatible transportation cards, and perform payment transactions according to the corresponding identified transportation cards; and a provider management server which collects transactional information from the card terminals, conducts settlement for the transactions on self-issued compatible transportation cards dealt in self card terminals, and transmits the transactions paid by other company cards to the corresponding company settlement servers. |
