METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CELL RESELECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a WTRU that are configured to perform cell reselection to another cell.

SOLUTION: A WTRU (wireless transmit/receive unit) is disclosed that is configured to perform cell reselection to another cell when the WTRU is in CELL_FACH state using an E-DCH (Enhanced-Dedicated Channel). Cell reselection is based on internal measurements by the WTRU. Alternatively, the cell reselection can be based on WTRU measurement values reported to a network.
