The device (300) has reference elements (118-1-118-4) of predetermined form, where the reference elements are placed at a level of a master apparatus (104). A camera (114) provides an image of the master apparatus. A processing module (116) receives the image of the master apparatus, and recognizes the predetermined form. The processing module processes the image to determine data relative to one of the reference elements, and interprets the data to associate a function or control to be performed by a slave apparatus (106).
