<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a compact cylinder device with a boost mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A first piston (10) is inserted into a housing (2) to be sealed and vertically movable. A second piston (20) is inserted into a cylinder hole (14) of the first piston (10) to be sealed and vertically movable, and an output rod (26) is projected upward from the second piston (20) and passing through the housing (2). A lock chamber (40) is formed to a lower part and a release chamber (42) is formed to an upper part of the first piston (10) and the second piston (20). The boost mechanism (52) is disposed in the housing (2) to perform boost conversion of a force pressing the first piston (10) upward by pressure fluid supplied to the lock chamber (40) and thereby to transmit the force to the second piston (20).
